A popular tattoo design for tattoo enthusiasts is the confederate flag tattoo. Perhaps it’s the aesthetic factor of the design itself or the weight of history it represents, but the confederate flag tattoo design has already inspired various versions from different people.

The inspiration for this tattoo design – the confederate flag – once represented the Confederate States of America during and before the civil war of the United States. The topic argued about concerned slavery issues. With one side believing that slavery should be kept (South) while United States leaders were trying to change the situation, eventually leading to the birth of the confederate flag. A widely acknowledged emblem of the south, the confederate flag is sometimes called as the “Confederate Battle Flag”.

For some, rebel flag tattoos symbolizes the south’s deep roots: Southern pride, southern hospitality and the love for the areas in the south. Its origination has been somewhat forgotten and is replaced by people’s own perspective of the symbol. The flag contains 13 stars within a blue cross with white lining in a read background. The stars are there to represent the different states that were part of the Confederate States of America.

It is not surprising that some people may not view the flag in a good light, especially considering how it originated.

Bearing this in mind, it might be best to think things over before getting a tattoos of confederate flags. However, if you’re already bent on getting one, then you might want to think about the location of your tattoo. If there’s a possibility that you will come in contact of a lot of people, then you might try placing it somewhere less seen. Even so, it will be your decision to make.

Those who already have the confederate flag tattoo designs have also edited the basic pattern and incorporating them with their own ideas. There are those who wrap it in basketballs, use it as clothes for different characters or wrapped around a football, depending on the person’s preference.

Tattoos have created an impact on society in the same way that society has impacted tattoo motifs. Tattoo enthusiasts know enough to think and ponder over tattoo designs before acquiring them. Remember that a tattoo is something that you will live with for a long time. It might be best to think about it first, especially if the tattoo design of your choice has meanings that go further than your own.
