The history of the Celtic society and the popularity of Irish tradition have made Celtic tattoo designs one of the most popular tattoo varieties around. Celtic tattoos are similar in style to tribal tattoos. Both are usually black and grey, but several Celtic tattoo designs have highlights in other colors. There are countless different Celtic designs around, although nearly all of them comprise of lines entwined together. This gives it the characteristic appearance that we all make out to be Celtic.

So why are Celtic tattoo designs so popular? Well, it’s human nature to be attracted to your heritage and where your relatives hail from. This has become more prevalent over the past few years as the internet has given people an easy method of tracking

Celtic signs and insignias are intended to be storytellers, like the claddagh. They are meant to instill oral tradition rather than printed text. Overall, the Celts were a hardworking and skilled people. Modern Celtic tattoo designs are great examples that indicate how skillful these people were. Celtic crosses are the most familiar and prominent of all the Celtic designs; these crosses were amazingly hard to construct back then. Other fields of expertise were arms, metalwork, and jewelry.

An incredibly popular Celtic tattoo design is the Celtic knot. The imagery behind this tattoo is what causes it to be so renowned. Celtic knots are not just interwoven lines in an arbitrary shape. They consist of one line that is boundless; it just twirls together to make entwined design. The knot signifies the spiraling in one’s life. Each curl or loop stands for life’s milestones: birth, growth, faith, love and death.

Normally, Celtic tattoo designs can be as uncomplicated or complex as you wish for them to be. For some, as small Celtic knot on someone’s ankle is more than enough. Others, however, like larger and magnificent tattoos. It isn’t rare to see folks with huge tattoos that coat their full back. This is no omission when dealing with Celtic tattoo designs. In truth, it is especially true with several Celtic tattoo designs. Since Celtic designs are so accommodating and varied, it’s uncomplicated to make a simple Celtic design cover the width of your entire back or wrap around your entire forearm.

Also, a few people choose to get big Celtic crosses on their back, stretching from their necks to their lower backs!
